We're now two weeks into the new year and we all usually have New Years resolutions. We pick the thing(s) we want to change and try and follow through with whatever it may be over the course of that year. This year I decided I didn't just need a resolution... I needed a reinvention!
If you're not familiar with who I am but found your way here somehow such as making the horrendous mistake of following me on Twitter I'm not going to go into too much detail on me right now. If you must know more about me I am also re-working my personal site and will have it up soon.
I will say that I've worked over the last several years as a consultant and journalist with a primary focus on startups, small businesses, content creation, etc. I've got to check out a lot of really cool ideas, companies, and people. I covered everything from a music startup that attempted to go toe to toe with Pandora to another company that uses A.I. to schedule appointments on your behalf with almost no input needed.
As much as I've loved doing that I really felt it was time to move my focus onto one of my favorite past times in a more professional capacity... Japanese media! This includes, anime, light novels, video games, etc. They say if you love what you do you'll never work a day in your life, right? Now that isn't say I won't still cover other things that I have had in the past, but anime/manga/etc will be my main focus moving forward.
As far as the start of this new year I have some neat things lined up in the pipeline as far as related work. I will have a review out soon from a new manga company in Dallas that has launched their first manga, I also have some screenwriting for an anime YouTube channel lined up. I'm ridiculously excited for these opporunties and hopefully many, many more that await me in 2019.
Some other changes people may have noticed is I am no longer using Wordpress as my blog engine of choice. I've made the jump over to Ghost and I like it a lot better, if certain adjustments and sacrifices had to be made. I may possibly do another post on just that change later if I have enough interest.
This pretty much wraps up this first post/relaunch for 2019 and I want to thank you for taking the time to read this. Feel free to reach out to me on Twitter as my DMs are always open and let's have a chat!
